Rev Israel Olofinjana has produced some booklets to help you understand the Old and New Testament.  They are entitled 'God's Story: An Overview of Scripture' and introduce you to the context of the Bible as well as explaining key characers and themes.  He has also written 'The Da Vinci Code: A Conspiracy Theory' which includes the canonisation of the New Testament (telling you how the books of the New Testament were chosen) and a review of the film 'Angels and Demons'.
